From the series "Left Behind," 2014-2015.

Carol Gander is an architect and photographer who is enchanted by light as it moves through buildings and over the landscape. While spending many years in the field of transportation architecture, she gradually nurtured her photography practice. An ongoing project initiated in 2011, “Drawing with Light,” features “drawings” made by vines as they clamber over the landscape. A more recent project, "Constructed Horizons," 2014-2015, reimagines boat hulls, worn by wave action, as seascapes. Another current project "Left behind," 2014-2015, depicts traces left behind by homeless people in hidden places on the edges of the city.  Ms. Gander’s photographs are in many private collections including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where she was awarded the First Place Karsh Prize for Photography. Her educational experience includes a BA degree from Wellesley College, a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University.
